Your Meditation Teacher
Education: Integrative Health Coach, Institute of Integrative Nutrition NY (IIN) 2015. Meditation Teacher, Yoga & Integrative Medicine Institute (YIMI) 2018. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Meditation Training Institute of Australasia (MTIA) 2019.
Rachel is an accredited teacher and holds membership with Meditation Association of Australia. Her first introduction to meditation was in May of 2002 when she attended her first yoga class. It was approximately 10 years later when she attended her first retreat that incorporated yoga & long periods of sitting meditation. The meditation component had great impact on her and her ability to be with the grief she was going through at that time. From there she cultivated a regular nightly practice of Yoga Nidra.
Her interest in meditation grew as did the need for it in her everyday life. There were so many types of meditation to explore but Rachel found her preference, in the secular practice of Mindfulness and has developed regular practice using various mindfulness techniques.
After completing her meditation teacher training in 2018 with the Yoga & Integrative Medicine Institute, she then went on to do an 8-week course as a participant in MBSR with Openground and knew this was the style of meditation she wanted to teach others. She then completed additional intensive training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in 2019 with Meditation Training Institute of Australasia.
Meditation has become an incredibly important part of Rachel’s daily life. Noticeably it has assisted her in cultivating a more compassionate and accepting way of being, lowered her reactivity and enabled her to manage anxiety and panic attacks. Rachel is extremely passionate about sharing her knowledge and holding space for others to learn and implement the life changing skills MBSR has to offer.
